外国论坛找到的第二首Portrait of Tracy
Intro
G|-<5>-<3.2>--------------------------------------------------------------#
D|-----------<3.8>-------<5>-<3.2>----------------------------------------#
A|-----------------<3.2>-----------<3.8>-------<5>-<3.2>------------------#
E|---------------------------------------<3.2>-----------<3.8>--<7>--<12>-#
(Play once.)
This isn't particulary hard, if you are having trouble remembering it, just
notice that it is a recurring pattern of;
G|-<5>-<3.2>-------------
D|-----------<3.8>-------
A|-----------------<3.2>-
E|-----------------------
Played one string down each time before you go to the E<7> and E<12> harmonics.
Be sure to let the E<12> ring.
Verse
G|------------|<3.8>|-------<5>--------------------------|<4>|-|<3.8>|----
D|------------|< 5 >|-<3.2>-----|<3.8>|-------<5>--------|<4>|-|< 5 >|----
A|------0-2-3-------------------|< 5 >|-<3.2>-----2<6>---------|--3--|----
E|------------------------------|--3--|----------------0---------------<5>
G|------------|<3.8>|-------<5>--------------------------|<4>|-|<12>|-----
D|------------|< 5 >|-<3.2>-----|<3.8>|-------<5>--------|<4>|-|<9 >|-----
A|------0-2-3-------------------|< 5 >|-<3.2>-----2<6>---------|<9 >|-----
E|-3-0--------------------------|--3--|----------------0----------------11
(Play once.)
This section is not that hard once your hands are accustomed to playing it,
but it is important to remember that in the
G|-----
D|<3.8>
A|< 5 >
E|--3--
and
G|<12>
D|<9 >
A|<9 >
E|----
Chords, you have clear intonation on all three notes, otherwise you will have a very thin/unimpressive sound there, and it is important that it sounds as full
as it can. It is convenient while learning to use your thumb or a single finger
to take care of these chords and the two-note harmonic chords, but it is probably beneficial to make sure you use one finger per string, for the strongest possible sound.
The Stretch: This is something that will cause problems for some people learning the piece, as the bottom line is, not everybody's hand can physically achieve a 2<6> stretch. This doesn't mean though, that you can't play the piece - there is an artifical harmonic for it that works just fine. But I don't know where it is...
EDIT: Yes I do. It is;
G|------
D|1-<5>
A|------
E|------
Fret the D# and then hold a harmonic on the 5th fret with the forefinger of your right hand, and pluck just below it with your thumb.
Verse 2
G|--------|<4>|-|<3.8>|-----#
D|--------|<4>|-|< 5 >|-----#
A|-2<6>---------|--3--|-----#
E|------0---------------<5>-#
G|--------|<4>|-|<12>|------#
D|--------|<4>|-|<9 >|------#
A|-2<6>---------|<9 >|------#
E|------0---------------11--#
If you can play the previous section, you can play this section, so don't worry too hard about it.
Leading into bridge
G|-|<3.8>|-----|<2.3>|-|<2.1>|-----#-------|<7>|---------<3.8>-----|< 7 >|-----------#
D|-|<3.8>|-----|<2.3>|-|<2.1>|-----#-|<7>|-|<5>|-|<7>|-------------|<8.9>|-----------#
A|-|<3.2>|-------------------------#-|<5>|-------|<5>|-------------|<8.9>|-----------#
E|---------4-4-----------------3-3-#-------------------2-------1-0---------<8.9>-<7>-#
The difficulty you might have here is if you try to bar the the
G|<3.8>
D|<3.8>
A|<3.2>
E|-----
Chord, you are better off using two or three fingers to make sure you are accurate on those harmonics.
The
G|<2.3>-<2.1>
D|<2.3>-<2.1>
A|-----------
E|-----------
Harmonics may be a little hard to get a bright noise from, but if you turn up your Highs and solo the pickup closest to the neck it will assist you there. Other than that just remember to use multiple fingers for the best sound out of the three note chord near the end.
Bridge
G|-<8.9>---------------|< 7 >|------------#
D|-------<8.9>-----<7>-|<8.9>|------------#
A|-------------<7>-------------<8.9>------#
E|------------------------------------<7>-#
(Play 3 Times.)
G|--<8.9>--------------|< 7 >|-----#
D|-------<8.9>-----<7>-|<8.9>|-----#
A|-------------<7>-------------<7>-#
E|---------------------------------#
This section shouldn't give you much trouble, it's easy stuff compared to the rest .
Just remember to only touch the harmonics and then back off to get the brighter sound.
Bridge 2
G|---|<7>|---------|<7>|-------------#
D|---------|<7>|-----------|<7>|-----#
A|-----------------------------------#
E|-8-------------8-------8-------8---#
G|---|<7>|-----------|<7>|-----------#
D|-----------|<7>|-----------|<7>|---#
A|-----------------------------------#
E|-7-------7-------7-------7-------7-#
G|---|<7>|-----------|<7>|-----------#
D|-----------|<7>|-----------|<7>|---#
A|------------------------------------#
E|-6-------6-------6-------6-------6-#
G|---|<7>|-----------|<7>|-----------#
D|-----------|<7>|-----------|<7>|---#
A|-----------------------------------#
E|-7-------7-------7-------7-------7-#
G|---|<5>|-----------|<7>|-----------#
D|---|<7>|---|<5>|---|<5>|---|<7>|---#
A|-----------|<7>|-----------|<5>|---#
E|-8-------8--------8-------8------8-#
Pinky for the 8 and harmonics with the second and pinky. Watch out for the
change in there.
G|---< 7 >------------<7>------------#
D|---<8.9>---< 7 >----<5>-----<7>----#
A|-----------<8.9>------------<5>----#
E|-7-------7--------7-------7------7-#
This is the tricky part of this section.
I use my second finger for the first two E7's, then change to my middle finger
to play the third E7.
The first two harmonic chords I use my middle finger and pinky, second two
harmonic chords I use the second and middle. If you are having trouble with
the second harmonic chords there, only play the G and D<7>. The reason for this is that D<5> and G<7> produce the same harmonics, as does A<5> and D<7>. That's how we use them to tune .
G|---|<7>|-----------|<7>|-----------#
D|---|<5>|---|<7>|---|<5>|---|<7>|---#
A|-----------|<5>|-----------|<5>|---#
E|-6-------6--------6-------6------6-#
Back to an easy one. Middle finger and second/pinky.
G|---|<7>|-|<5>|---------<3.8>-#
D|---|<5>|-|<7>|---<3.8>-------#
A|-6-------------6-------------#
E|-----------------------------#
Make sure to let the 6 ring underneath those two harmonic chords before you
play it again. Leave a short delay inbetween the last two harmonic notes.
Bridge 3
G|-------|<3>|-|<2.8>|---|<3>|---|<2.8>|---#
D|-------|<5>|-|<3.8>|---|<5>|---|<3.8>|---#
A|-----------------------------------------#
E|-0-3-4---------------4-------4---------0-#
G|---|<3.8>|-----------------------|<3.2>|---#
D|---|< 5 >|---|<3.8>|---|<3.2>|---|< 4 >|---#
A|-------------|< 5 >|---|< 4 >|-------------#
E|-3---------3---------3---------3---------0-#
(Play three times)
In the second section there, use the same fingering for all the harmonics, just move it around accordingly.
G|---|<3.8>|---|<3.2>|---|<3.8>|---|<3.2>|---#
D|---| <5> |---|< 4 >|---| <5> |---|< 4 >|---#
A|-----------------------------------------0-#
E|-4---------4---------4---------4-----------#
G|---|<3.8>|------------#--|< 2 >|-----------#
D|---|< 5 >|-|<3.8>|----#--|<2.8>|-|< 2 >|---#
A|-3-|--3--|-|< 5 >|-0--#--|--1--|-|<2.8>|---#
E|-----------|--3--|----#----------|--1--|---#
Again be careful to use a finger per string for those chords, and hold down the last one.
*Play the Verse again.*
Then the Final Chord
G|-------|9<12.8>|---#
D|-------|9<12.8>|---#
A|-------|9<12.8>|---#
E|-0-0---------------#
This last one is tricky man.
The best bet is to have your EQ set right, and to use the time given to you by the open E notes to position your fingers like that. Your bar the 9 with your second finger and then you bar the 12.8 with your pinky, it will take experimentation to find the right position. Pluck it with three fingers and move your finger off the harmonics as soon as you hit them, because it's REALLY important to finish the piece properly with this chord loud and bright and clear. It makes a really big let down not to . |
