The Streamline Bass is a one-piece, woven graphite composite instrument.
Its compact design may be light-weight but it is a true, professional bass guitar which delivers all the quality you would expect from any Status Bass.
The 24 fret fingerboard has a regular 34" scale. Only the body is smaller to make it more convenient when travelling or in a space restricted gigging or studio situation.
An elongated upper body makes the balance perfect when used with a regular guitar strap but, to make sure the upper fret access is not restricted, the back of the neck and body has a deep recess.

The Streamline features a Status 2-band EQ with individual treble and bass controls,
master volume and pickup blend control.

As with all Status basses, the fingerboard is available fretted, plain or lined fretless
at no extra cost.
Front dots and front or side LED's are also available.
The Streamline is available as a 4 or 5-string bass.

An 18 volt battery supply is fitted to the Streamline with the batteries fitted in quick-change,
flip-up battery boxes.
The Status soap-bar pickups feed a Status 2-band active EQ with individual controls. This circuit has been developed specifically for the Streamline bass to give a wide frequency response with a broad range of tones. The Status active circuit is augmented with master volume and pickup blend controls. A side jack socket is fitted.
Headless mono-rail tuners and the unique head-piece are fitted. These have been designed by Status to work perfectly with both double-ball and regular single-ball strings. The bridge / tuner unit is fully adjustable to perfectly set the action and intonation.... once set, the bridge can be locked in place with the small Allen screws for maximum dynamics and sustain.
We recommend using Status Hotwire, double-ball strings but regular single-ball strings can also be fitted. They can be locked into the head-piece with the Allen screws we supply with the bass.
All hardware is finished in black as standard.
Gold and chrome is available as a custom option.

The RetroGlide KingBass was recently developed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Level 42.
Four prototype models were developed prior to the last tour . This is the culmination of many months work and
Mark King used it, along with his various other KingBasses, through-out the tour.

The construction of the RetroGlide is unique, even by Status standards:
At the heart of the bass is a graphite through-neck, set into an alder body with a maple cap.
The graphite on the neck is just as rigid and stable as all our necks but has an additional
"woven chrome" layer wrapped onto the outer face
In similar fashion, the body has a "woven chrome" shell vacuum bonded to the front face.
This layer not only makes the body more rigid but adds a unique, 3-dimensional quality to the surface.
The back of the body has deep black lacquer.

Custom-wound, chrome humbuckers are fitted. These are made here at the Status workshop and match all the hardware on the bass. Their narrow width means that the only the custom 16.5mm string spacing is available. (A standard 19mm string spacing is possible but only with regular Status soap-bar pickups).
The active EQ has all the features found on the KingBass Artist and Standard models :
Master volume and pickup blend controls
Active treble and bass controls with centre 'flat' detent
Variable frequency midrange control with cut/flat/boost switch
18 volt battery supply with quick access flip-up battery boxes
All Status custom options are available :
Front and side LED's white LED's are the custom option chosen by Mark King
but red, green, blue and amber are also available.
The "BendWell" is also a custom option with the ball-bearing top-nut.

The KingBass Standard has a 34" scale, 24 fret graphite neck bolted to a mahogany body with a book-matched hardwood facing. The body is finished in a satin polyurethane lacquer to give a natural feel. The neck has a high gloss lacquer to bring out the depth of the graphite weave.
It has black hardware as standard but gold and chrome are also available as a custom option.
The Standard uses the same Status soap-bar pickups and active EQ as the through-neck Artist
but the tone is slightly different. Because of the bolt-on neck and natural satin lacquer on the body,
the tone is slightly warmer with less very high frequencies.
The Standard has a "punchier" tone.
The Standard is available with 4, 5 or 6 strings.
Fretted, lined or plain fretless.
As with all Status Basses, the active E.Q. has an 18 volt battery supply.
Gloss lacquers, tints and colours are a custom option.

The ' Princess ' KingBass
To celebrate the success of the KingBass we decided to produce
a very special instrument.
It features a custom air-brushed artwork of the
"Princess" which featured on the cover of the earliest Level 42 albums.
Each bass has an ivory-white body and natural woven graphite through-neck.
After the custom artwork is painstakingly applied, the whole instrument is
sealed in high-gloss lacquer.

All KingBass models are available with 4, 5 and 6-strings.
Status basses are supplied in a moulded Status hard case as standard.
Both front and side LED's are available in red, green, blue or white.

All LED's are designed and fitted in the Status workshop.
The entire instrument is finished in high-gloss polyester lacquer
and has gold hardware as standard.
