A-Series: New, Bold Generation of Yamaha Acoustic-Electric Guitars Redefines Tone, Feel and Playability
—A New Look, A New Feel, A New Sound for Yamaha Guitars—

ANAHEIM, CA. — A new generation of Yamaha acoustic-electric guitars is on the way. Yamaha Guitars is proud to expand on its successful line-up of acoustic-electric guitars with the unveiling of the new A-Series handcrafted guitars. Featuring a new look, a new feel and a new sound, the A-Series launches Yamaha into a previously untapped market segment by providing a professional instrument designed to be the workhorse of any steel-string guitarist's arsenal.

Offered in a dreadnought cutaway and a concert size cutaway, the A–Series represents a departure from the look of Yamaha's acclaimed FG Series and L Series guitars. From the new headstock design to the touch-of-class rosette and mahogany binding, Yamaha has focused on every detail to create the feel and playability sought by today's acoustic-electric guitar player. Featuring a slim neck profile and a rounded fretboard edge, the A-Series delivers ease and comfort. Yamaha also increased its traditional string spacing and lowered the action to accommodate today's players. In addition, the semi-open pore finish on the necks of the A-Series maintains the wood's feel, yet also enhances playability.

Tone is always key to an acoustic electric guitar and Yamaha has overachieved with the A-Series. Dreadnought and concert shapes are offered in Mahogany back and sides and Rosewood back and sides. All models feature solid spruce tops and are outfitted with new S.R.T. (Studio Response Technology) electronics developed by Yamaha.

The new S.R.T. preamp, an exclusive Yamaha technology, incorporates a piezo pickup system with a built-in microphone modeling technique specific to each guitar model. The S.R.T. system lets players choose from three different mic settings that can be blended with the piezo pickup, delivering on the often-elusive dream of providing studio-quality sound while playing live on stage. In addition, the S.R.T. system's feedback detector cancels feedback frequencies in live situations.

"We often hear stories from artists and customers that their first guitar was a Yamaha and now, with the new A-Series, their next guitar should also be a Yamaha," said Dennis Webster, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The new handcrafted A-Series guitars exhibit many firsts for Yamaha acoustic-electric guitars while delivering an outstanding look, unbelievable tone, and a comfortable feel. With these incredible guitars, Yamaha will reach new players."

列出了八个型号，A1R, A1M, A3R, A3M, AC1R, AC1M, AC3R, AC3M。

其中的差别是：
1. A是系列型号；
2. 型号中的1，表示面单；3，表示全单；
3. R，表示Rosewood面侧; M，表示Mahogany面侧；
4. C，表示Concert-size Cutaway琴型；没有C，表示Dreadnought Cutaway。

全系列，都是Cutaway Acoustic-Electric，Solid Sitka Spruce面板，Mahogany琴颈，Rosewood指板(43mm宽)，Ebony琴桥，System 66 Analog的Preamp。

第四贴里的那段话说到，A系列是既有的诸多成功因数的基础上，引入了美国吉他团队的经验和技术，是第一个美国设计的Yamaha电箱吉他。

我的理解，莫非是在Yamaha吉他的“平衡”特点的基础上，加上点“激情”，来点“美式”味道？(纯猜测)

到底什么样，试过才知道。

雅马哈参加NAMM 2011的相关资料，重点推介新的A系列。

点击“Photos & Video”下的“Guitars”，里面有几段视频，是A系列吉他表演的现场视频。表演的有，Ladd Smith、Don Alder、Lee Ritenout，(还有一个没看到名字)。(请注意一下，表演所用的琴型)

在中间有一段(Guitar Press Conference)，主持人和Don Alder互动的谈话中，提到了A系列的价格，说是低于1000美元(含琴盒)。$3000? 大概可以买4个吧。

那个应该是外接的一个麦克，连接到图中1的位置。Pickup和Preamp的模块本身，是在图中2的位置。外接麦克具体如何和内置Preamp混合，不清楚。

A3系列，用的是System-63 SRT；A1系列，用的是System-66。SRT内部的拾音方式，是下弦枕式。
