ELECTRIC GUITARSAs with most famous artists Slash has the use of any guitar he wants, he's got quite a few (100+) as can be seen in the pic below, but is mainly associated with one model - Gibson Les Pauls Standards. But the Pauls he gained his fame with were not made by Gibson but custom built by Chris Derrig. Now he uses his new signature Les Pauls (specs below - as can be seen all his modern LPs are fitted with Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II humbuckers vintage ones keep their standard PAFs) along with vintage Gibsons and those listed below, probably the most famous of which are the BC Rich Mockingbird used in the "You Could Be Mine" video and the Guild Crossroads. The latter is an electro-acoustic double neck, one neck is a 12 string acoustic powered by Fishman piezo pickup the other a double humbucking powered 6 string electric.

Slash's main amp was the Marshall JCM 2555 Silver Jubilee Anniversary 100 Watt valve head (Originally released in 1987 the Jubilee amps were built to celebrate 25 years of Marshall Amplification and 50 years of Jim Marshall's personal involvement in the music business). The JCM Slash 2555SL is an authentic re-issue of the 2555 and was in 1996 Marshall's first ever signature amp, it was only produced in '96 with a strictly limited total of 3000 heads made. Fitted with 3 x ECC83 (GT12AX7) pre-amp valves and 4 x EL34 output valves. Pressing the footswitch (or pulling the Output Master control) activates the Lead Master section which boosts the gain, this ability to switch between the normal and beefed-up pre-amp gain levels effectively makes the 2555SL a two channel amp and gives you the facility to switch between either clean or crunch rhythm and lead tones with a tap of the foot. Though Slash uses 2 amps, one clean & one dirty with Bradshaw/Custom Audio Electronics splitter/switcher used to switch between them. The amp can also be switched from 100 to 50 watt output.
