2014 年 Total Guitar 读者票选年度最佳 Riff 由 Slipknot 夺冠! 而他们这张专辑同时也准备角逐 2015 年的葛莱美奖，看來 2015 将是 Slipknot 的丰收年，如同这次票选的评语 : 「这次 Slipknot 好到令人战慄。」以下是 2014 年 Total Guitar 所票选出的年度最佳 Riff。

第九名: The Black Keys – Turn Blue (Turn Blue)
Turn Blue 这张专辑带有复杂却又精准的录音，让他们打上各种排行榜。而 Turn Blue 则是使用一句简单的 Riff 贯穿了整首歌，以后整首歌主题十分明显。曲风大胆前位，流畅的旋律把歌曲本身的质量有了一个大胆的升华。

第八名: Machine Head: Beneath The Slit (Bloodstone & Diamonds)
这是新 Bass 手 Jared MacEachern 上工的第一张专辑，而开场的复古前奏似乎是为了 Flynn 实验他们的合作结果。看來的确是可行的。

第七名: Rival Sons: Electric Man (Great Western Valkyrie)
Electric Man 给了我们所有喜欢的东西，超屌的 Riff 、 Fuzz 的酥麻。太赞了!

第六名: Jack White – Lazaretto (Lazaretto)
Funk 和迷幻只靠着简介的 Riff 就可以连结起來，难怪 Jack White 这次能够成为黑胶的销售霸主。

第五名: Steel Panther – Gloryhole (All You Can Eat
哈哈! 80年代! 你还記得上一次 Steel Panther 超过四分分是什么歌吗? 这次他们将 Hair Metal 加上直白歌词让大家重溫80年代的美好和放荡。

第四名: Royal Blood – Little Monster (Royal Blood)
今年的新秀 Royal Blood 用最简单的方式证明搖滾乐已经确实的交给年轻人，而这手的 Riff 就是标准的简单卻又令人血脈澎張。

第三名: Mastodon – The Motherload (One More ‘Round The Sun)
撇开他們的 MV 不讲，这首歌爽快的 Riff 的确具有撼动人心的能量。

第二名: Slash – Withered Delilah (World On Fire)

不用多說，就是个痛快的 Riff 。

第一名: Slipknot – The Negative One (.5: The Gray Chapter)
经历了元老团员 Paul Gray 在 2010 年猝死、鼓手 Joey Jordison 于 2013 年骤然离去，Slipknot 没有因此解散或是一厥不振，虽然沉寂了好一阵子，但他们仍然携带著满满的爆发力回归了

我喜欢violator那种 疾速奔跑的 跳跃式的 充满拉丁风情的riff 噢耶！
