Schecter SVSS FR 系列吉他所装载的 EMG 拾音器并非大家所熟悉的 EMG 81/85 之类. 这组全新的 Retro Active拾音器采用一个全新设计的主动前级结合被动式的线圈，来创造一种有着现代音乐所需强劲功率的复古音色。前级放大器会对每组线圈区别对待，这将消除信号链中混浊的中低频，现在，拜技术进步所赐，全新的前级和经典的开放式线圈设计意味着传统的双线圈的响应与低噪音低阻抗高输出的清晰音色。一音调一音量的旋钮配置和一个3档拾音器切换非常经典易用。而此次升级的单单双拾音器配置则能让它适应更多音乐风格的演奏。
