Download Festival音乐节始于2003年，每年6月的第二个周末在英国莱斯特郡的多宁顿公园举行。Download在唱片业是一个不受欢迎的词汇，因为互联网的共享功能大大损害了唱片业的利益，于是素来倡导反叛精神的摇滚乐便以此命名自己的节日。Download Festival音乐节的前身是始于1980年的摇滚怪兽，由莫里斯•琼斯(Maurice Jones)和保罗•罗斯比(Paul Loasby)共同创立。
2010年为了庆祝摇滚怪兽30周年，DownloadFestival的主舞台被命名为“Maurice Jones”，主办方还把一块纪念牌匾送给了琼斯的遗孀黛安和两个女儿。授牌仪式在音乐节第一天、6月11日的下午举行。黛安激动的说：“我们为莫里斯以这种方式被人们铭记而感到骄傲，他会喜欢的。我还记得他和保罗•罗斯比开车绕着舞台转悠，然后就产生了这个念头——最好的乐队应当在一个特别的音乐节上演出。他认识多宁顿公园的拥有者汤姆•维特克罗夫特(Tom Wheatcroft)，至于接下来的事，正如人们所说的，就成为历史了。”这块牌匾随后将被安置在多宁顿公园的某处。
英国的Download Festival音乐节是一个完全只适合摇滚歌迷的口味的音乐盛会，它在过去几年里不断壮大，继承了曾在此举办的摇滚怪物音乐节（Monsters of Rock festival）的衣钵。
2018年的Download Festival音乐节将在6月8日至6月10日在英国的莱斯特郡多宁顿公园举行，今年到场的乐团将由AvengedSevenfold（6月8号）、Guns N' Roses（6月9号）、Ozzy Osbourne（6月10号）三支乐队领衔；演出阵容还包括volbeat、marilyn manson、shinedown、blach stone cherry、parhway hriuj、rad religion、the hives、tesseract等!

实际上人们一直在等2018 Download的主舞台上的Guns N' Roses。洛杉矶传奇在舞台上爆发了“Appetite ForDestruction”经典，“‘It So Easy”，瞬间炸毁了成千上万的人。
当他们出场时，点击声不断地传来，像威士忌一样活力四射，“Mr Brownstone”和“Welcome To The Jungle”的绝对暴风雨版本，把我们带到我们的kn-kn-kn-knees。这是一个令人震惊的时刻，看到Axl把手臂放在斜杠的肩膀上，因为他们把丛林带到了灾难性的高潮。音乐上的乐队是氨纶紧绷的，AXL的六个八度音域仍然是惊人的强大，因为他毫不费力地操纵他穿过高耸入云的“YouCould Be Mind”的动作。SLASH的FrtWork在他把“Rocket Queen”平流层的结尾带上了一个由一个谈话箱丰富的天琴座的旋翼而燃烧着。当Duff把他那低沉的低音音符和声乐借给不合适的“Attitude”的原始封面时，他看上去一点也不象是偶像。
