为大家附上 Schecter PT 诞生的小故事 ——
1976年 David Schecter 成立的公司是专门为 Fender 吉他提供升级改装部件的。渐渐的，美国一些吉他订制店开始用 "Schecter Guitar Research" 的部件组装吉他。
1979年，英国骨灰级摇滚乐队 The Who 正在美国巡演。Pete Townshend 的吉他技师 Alan Rogan 从纽约的 Manny's 店购买了这样一支装有两枚 humbucker 的 Telecaster 式吉他，呈现给 Pete。

这可能是最早的 Pete Townshend 使用 Schecter 吉他的照片——1979年9月一场在美国的演出。图中是一支黑色的单圈包边吉他。

1979年12月，胡桃色的桃花心木吉他——现在的 PT Dream Machine 的原型。

The Who 回到伦敦以后，制琴师 Roger Giffin 接过了为 Pete Townshend 订制吉他的任务，一共做了六支 1979 年款的复制品，后来 Roger Giffin 不再继续服务 Pete Townshend。于是 Pete 再次回到了 Schecter 这间小工作坊，再次请他们为他订制吉他。
后来的淡金色带有黑色护板的款式，金色的无护板的款式等都是 Schecter 整琴订制事业的开端。

最早 Pete Townshend 订制琴完全没有面向公众的零售版，因此这些原作成了价值连城的收藏品。1984 年左右，Schecter 开始少量推出了这种 "Pete式" 吉他的零售版，那时没有名字，也并非所谓 Pete Townshend 签名款，仅仅在美国很少一些琴行能见到。1986-87 年间，Schecter 开始管这种琴叫 "Saturn", 后改为 "PT", 并沿用至今。从此 PT 不断发展，不断改进，至今为止一直是 Schecter 的热门琴型之一。
