Hi,
I think the confusion may stem from the branding change we made a year or so ago. For the first few years, the line was called "Tribute by G&L" with "Tribute" in big letters as it was the brand name. Later we changed the branding to "G&L" with the subscript "Tribute Series" so the brand name became "G&L." I'm pretty sure that all the "Tribute by G&L" brand instruments were made in the Korea factory. I think we changed the branding to "G&L Tribute Series" after we moved the production to the Indonesia factory. Look for the words "Tribute Series" under the "G&L" logo on that ASAT. It's in the same place that most of our USA models say "Guitars by Leo." If it doesn't say "Tribute Series" there, well, that ain't right. I'd love to see a picture of that, and the markings on the back of the headstock. I hope this helps clarify things. Regards, Dave McLaren : Hey folks, : New to the board here and I have a question. There's a guitar in a local shop I have me eye one, but I don't know much about it and am hoping for some guidance. It says G&L ASAT on the headstock and on the back it says Indonesia along with the serial number. I've been searching around for a while and I know there's the Tribute line that's branded as Tribute by G&L, and that's made in Indonesia, but this guitar is not branded a Tribute. It's a great feeling and playing guitar and I almost pulled the trigger on it yesterday, but I wanted to know the pedigree first.
