这首的原唱是传奇黑人灵歌歌手Otis Redding，这首歌录制于1967年，在录制完这首歌3天之后，他就因为飞机失事而去世了，这首歌在他去世之后才发表，立刻成为冠军单曲，收录了这首歌的这张专辑也很快就成为了金唱片，更为他赢得了「最佳R&B男歌手」和「最佳R&B歌曲」等两项葛莱美奖，可惜他当时已无法感受到这些荣耀了。
