This document is explanation of how to use update aplication "G9Upd.exe"(herein after called "Updater").
Important Notice
===============
Do not use Updater to equipments other than G9.2tt.
It is possible to loss data or system of another instruments.
It is possible to loss patches which you programmed,
when it happens shut down the power by accident during updater execution.
Please note that we hold no responsibilities to meet inquiries about updater
or operating procedure of G9.2tt update mode.
Please read this document carefully for your operation at your own risk.
Requirements of update
========================
You need the equipments for system update by this updater as below;
- PC which has Windows 2000 or later.
- MIDI interface which you have already confirmed its nomal work, with IN and OUT.
- .NET Framework 2.0
A Windows component called ".NET Framework 2.0" supplied by Microsoft must first be installed on the computer.
*If this componet is installed, the icon of the ".NET Framework" will be found in the [Administrative Tools] of the [Control Panel].
* In case you don't have the avobe equipments, please contact our local distributor.

Confirmation of MIDI Interface
==============================
1. Connect G9.2tt to PC with MIDI.
2. Turn the power of G9.2tt on, pressing both [SYSTEM] and [STORE/SWAP] button.
Please find "System Update" in the display of G9.2tt.
3. Start updater.
丂 Please select the device connecting G9.2tt in pull-down menu of MIDI IN and MIDI OUT.
- In case it displays "MIDI I/F requires.",
MIDI Interface is not installed or selected correctly from the pull-down menu.
- In case it displays "invalid Updater.",
it is possible that file has some damage.
4. Click [Check] button.
- In case it displays "Device Inquiry timeouted.",
it is possible that the connection between G9.2tt and PC is not normal.
Please check the connection.
- In case it displays "error",
it is possible that G9.2tt doesn't connect to PC.
Please check the connection. 丂丂丂丂丂丂
- In case "Device inquirying..." is freezing over 10 seconds,
it is possible that device driver of MIDI interface is in malfunction.
Please update device drive of your MIDI Interface.
5. When the connection is normal, it displays "RomSys Revision 9031".
Execution of update
==================
After confirmation of MIDI interface, [Execute] button will be active to perfrom the update.
- It takes about 5 minutes to update.
- After update started, it is impossible to operate updater.
- And do not operate G9.2tt or turn the power off during update.
When update will be completed normally,
it displays "Your G9.2tt has successfully been updated to Ver. 1.08.".
Please turn the power off.
Confirmation of updated system
===========================
Turning the power of G9.2tt again, it displays "SystemVer 1.08.".
"error" diplays after update
=======================
If it displays "error", paches which you programmed have been lost.
However it is possible to reset to factory default, starting over from
the procedure "Confirmation of MIDI Interface".
Please contact Zoom Service, in case of no-win situation with "error" many times.
In that case, please keep memo of error message which we need. |
