Private Party Features: 10
Spector produced this bass in 2000. It is made in China. Four Strings. Solid top thats laminated. Volume and tone control. SSD passive humbucker style pick up. Maple neck with a rosewood fret board.24 frets. Hardwood body. Ned Steinberger body shape design. Chrome bridge and tuners. It's a long scale bass. Sound: 10
I play in a classic rock covers band and it's great. I play it through a Peavey 115 combo amp. It had a passive SSD-EMG pick up but I replaced it with a EMG 35DC active pick up and it sounds better. The bass sounds good. I only play it in clubs not the studio. Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
The action is great I didn't have to adjust anything. The pick ups were good from the factory but I changed them for persoanl preferance. The black finish was very well done and it's my favorite color. Reliability/Durability: 10
I play this bass consistently and I have no complaints. The hardware is great. The finish once again seems to not fade away. No strap locks. I can depend on this bass. The neck and truss rod don't need to be ajusted. I dont have a back up and this bass has not let me down. Customer Support: 10
I emailed Spector basses directly and they advised me as to which pick up model I should use. They were very professional. Overall Rating: 10
I've been playing since I was 15 years old and this is the only bass I own. I'm very pleased with this bass. If it were stolen or lost it would be a drag. This model is hard to come by as Spector only produced the one pick up configuration NS2000B for a season. What I love about this bass is that it is smaller in proportion to most long scale basses and it is more comfortable for me. It fits with my body better with the exception of a short scale bass which I'm going to invest in next. I also love the fact that since I play in a classic rock covers band, if someone wants to jam a song on stage I can give them my bass and not have to worry if their going to damage a bass that I've payed thousands of dollars for. This bass is cheap in comparison to most other brand names but it is made well and most importantly it sounds great. I compared it to a Fender precision bass but the NS2000B felt the most comfortable. I also enjoy the fact that it has 24 frets and I can play up and down the entire fretboard. It has everything I need. I LOVE THIS BASS! |
