CONDITION: 100% ORIGINAL – this is a 36 year vintage ** that has many cosmetic issues, to include, dings, missing finish, missing stain, scratches (please see the many photos supplied). The frets show signs of moderate use but are in very good condition. There are no known structural issues; no breaks, no cracks, no repairs. - If you are looking for a new guitar, or a guitar with some type of warranty, or guarantee, then this guitar is NOT for you.
For me personally, it is interesting how the MIJ guitar community seems to so revere the Fernandes ** & Burny ** flame top examples, because the majority of flame top ** examples are veneer topped, not solid flame maple. Not only are the majority of ** flame tops made with veneer, they are typically reverse chevron, with little to no annual ring feature. Veneer flame IMO makes for a very inorganic, basically fake look in a flame top. Besides the unrealistic look of most ** veneer flame tops, who really wants a veneer flame top Les Paul? Solid flame maple is the way to go when choosing a flame top Les Paul. When did Gibson, or replica builders use veneer for a flame top Les Paul build? Let’s face the facts, solid topped flame maple ** examples are extremely rare & locating one in original condition is even rarer. Here we have one of the rarest of all ** examples, a 1978 Fernandes **-80VG, with a solid flame maple top, not a veneer top, and this one is in 100% original condition. Not only is the top solid flame maple, the top is flat sawn & demonstrates massive amounts of annual ring feature. As a result the top has a true organic look like the lumber features of an old vintage burst, and not like some cheesy veneer. This ** even comes with the original hard case, and original peg/tuner adjustment tool & literature. This is likely one of the rarest MIJ guitars I have ever offered, and it is 100% original. This is a 36 year vintage MIJ Les Paul, and it has its’ share of dings, missing finish, missing stain, scratches, and fret wear, all from real use, not from abuse. This ** is a true MIJ Vintage relic in every sense of the term & again, it is 100% original. This ** is highly collectable for any ** fan, or for any fan of MIJ Vintage guitars, and this ** is a real player too. Find another one! |
