The Breedlove Solo Concert is a great choice for anyone interested in a more fingerstyle-oriented guitar. This Breedlove has a pretty rich sound, with an apparent mid push, and lots of highs. This sound works perfect for guitar work that emphasizes melodies, but can easily accompany other musicians as well. Because of its softer cedar top and smaller Concert-style body size, it has a tendency to distort when strummed quite aggressively, so keep this in mind if you use a heavy hand. The Breedlove Solo Concert really does shine when fingerpicked -- and, as always, flatpicking works quite well with it too. The upper-register-focused timbre of the instrument lets it cut through the mix and gives the guitar good clarity of sound, even if heard from a distance. Bottom line: this guitar sounded great, and for a price at well under a thousand dollars, it is a great find.

Body Shape
The Concert with soft cutaway is our most popular body shape, favored by players because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of a great sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when played fingerstyle, as vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum.
Top
Western red cedar is a wonderful wood for fingerstyle players. It is softer than spruce, so it requires a careful and accurate touch, and it rewards with sweet, extended harmonic content.
Back and Sides
Indian Rosewood: Indian rosewood has been the standard rosewood choice for decades. It is often associated with the great dreadnoughts, and is an amazingly neutral wood. It is good for many styles and takes its personality from the player. Well-balanced lows, mids, and highs make it a natural for many styles
Hand-Crafted Neck
A satin-finished nato mahogany neck with volute makes the neck comfortable and easy to play. The volute adds strength to the break angle of the headstock. It also acts as a thumb rest for chords played in open and first positions.
Breedlove Bridge Truss
For centuries, one of the most difficult components of crafting guitars has been relieving the stress on the bridge without overbuilding the top and dampening sound. Originally invented over 20 years ago, the Breedlove Bridge Truss is still one of the most innovative truss systems on the market today. Refined and improved over the years, the Breedlove Bridge Truss relieves stress on the top, allowing use of a thinner top, providing for greater sustain and balance, more expression from the instrument, and greater structural integrity all while adding longevity to the instrument.
Electronics
The LR Baggs Element pickup and the Breedlove LR-TCV preamp give you great plugged-in sound. The back-lit, colored LED tuner also allows you to see if you're in tune on a dark stage. This set-up lets you play with confidence, so you can focus on your performance.
