Classical Gas - Up Close ( Tommy Emmanuel and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra )

Here is the version of Classical Gas found on Tommy's new instructional video UP CLOSE.
It's an entirely acoustic piece which sounds great as a solo. This song is fairly
difficult to play in some areas. It contains false harmonics and separate thumbing.
The only way you're really going to do this song justice is with a thumb pick. You'll
definitely need it if you want crisp harmonics.

I will represent the shaped harmonics by tabbing the fingering as normal and the
fingering for the harmonics above it.The way to play these if you haven't seen it done
before is to hold the chord specified, then holding your first finger on the harmonic
while plucking the string with your thumb(pick) behind the first finger. If you want to
learn from the master, buy the UP CLOSE video.

COUNTRYWIDE by Tommy Emmanuel

Tommy Emmanuel is probably not that well known outside Australia but when
a guy like this plays as the support for Eric Clapton, on EC's Journeyman
tour a few years back... What can I say? The man is very GOOD. For those of
you lucky enough to have access to Tommy's CD's try to keep up!

This is the accoustic version given to me by my tutor, Blaise Trouncer, the
approximate running time of the recording is 2:45 mins. The electric version
is something else again - a lot more improvising and effects. I prefer the
accoustic version but you're welcome to give the strat a burst!

This is an instrumental written by Tommy Emmanuel for a TV show in Australia
called Countrywide. The program was shown on the government run station ABC.
It is played at a brisk pace with special emphasis on the bassline - marked
by the dots under the tab. Tommy plays the bass notes with his thumb, I think.

Once again I'm tabbing an entirely acoustic version of this song.
This may upset some of you by the fact that this version is in C while the album
version is in A. Tommy plays a solo version of this song on the CD single to
Classical Gas. I guess he plays it in C to get a "full" sound as opposed to the
limitations of playing it in A as a solo piece. Then again I could be wrong! So
I am attempting the solo version in C. If you like the song, it won't be hard for you
to pick up.
The guitar is tuned slightly differently with this piece. The bottom E string is tuned
up to a G. See how you go.....

What a sweet song this is. Written by the late John Lennon. The recording
on the Determination CD has Tommy on Guitar, some strings and a shaker
cruising along in the background. There is a lot of picking separating phrases
in the melody. I will tab some of these but once you get the chord shapes
you'll be able to throw your own in there. The 3rd verse after the chorus goes
up an octave. Tommy plays this as a solo on the album. When he performs the song
live he stays in the lower register for the entire song. I'll just tab the first
and second verses. You can improvise on the third verse yourself. Sorry!
Anyway, for this song you'll need to tune your bottom string down to D.

I guess probably the hardest part about this version is the harmonics at the end.
But like so many of Tommy's songs this makes the ending just SO sweet! Just to
clear up what the symbols mean.

The section 6/7\65 means bend up to the 7, down again to the 6 and pick the 5th.
You'll know how it's meant to go if you listen to the CD.

The number with the ~ above like so 5, means play the harmonic 12 frets from the 5th
While holding your finger on the 5th Fret. Easy enough once you get the hang of it.

难道你不知道现在在中国大部分人都是在网吧上网的吗？这样的谱子很方便，只要复制到U盘里然后拿去直接打印就好了（直接看也可以），还有什么比这更方便的？我发谱子的目的是让更多的人分享，而不是只让少数在卧室上网的人研究的。

既然你都说到U盘了那图片曲谱不是更方便直观？另外这种文本格式的曲谱也是用软件导出的，文本格式的弹唱谱可以练练，而复杂的指弹曲谱用文本格式来表达上面的技巧你能看得明白吗？

还好TOMMY是传统指弹文本曲谱还大致能看懂一些，但是很多地方对右手的技巧就标得很杂，弹奏出来的效果绝对不好。如果是`押尾这样的现代指弹用文本曲谱来表达技巧估计没几人能看懂

对于国外指弹曲谱来说用 Power Tab Editor 1.7 这个软件显示的曲谱是最好最原版的，TOMMY的很多 Guitar Pro 5 显示的曲谱和声编的相对于简单且不够原版，不过 Guitar Pro 5 可以很容易的导出图片曲谱，但是 Power Tab Editor 1.7 好像就需要有打印机御览才能搞出图片曲谱了

后续名为pdf格式的曲谱我是用 Adobe Reader 7.0 打开的（图片曲谱）

这个网站有很多TOMMY的曲谱http://www.acousticpower.com/variousE-L.html 所有的曲谱都需要用 Power Tab Editor 1.7 来打开

我承认一些图片谱比文本谱好（如果是JPG或者其他一些用ACD之类的软件就可以打开的格式），可惜大部分都是PDF，PTB之类的格式，你认为打印店里会有 Power Tab Editor之类的软件来打开吗？
还有就是这种“复杂的指弹曲谱”我认为只要表达的好，TXT格式完全够了。

我认为世界上并没有什么不能用文字来表达的东西，只有表达不好的，没有表达不了的。

楼主这谱子弄成这样已经很辛苦了但是我还是更期待GTP格式的~毕竟节奏划分不清晰~不然还得边听着原曲边看谱练习~

“节奏划分不清晰”的原因是论坛的字符导致的，你把谱子复制下来贴到记事本里就清晰了...................
