There are some types of Jacaranda, but the real deal is Jacaranda da Bahia, which you all know as Brazilian Rosewood or better, Dalbergia Nigra. The other types are close to the Bahia one.
Pau Ferro is not Jacaranda, and it's cientifically called Caesalpinia ferrea. It's not as dark, usually clear brown, and it's also a great wood for instruments.
Might be Bolivian Rosewood, but here in Brazil it's just Pau Ferro, which is from the same Caesalpinia family as the Pau Brasil, the wood the gives our country it's name.
But generally speaking, when talking about Jacaranda here, the one that it refers to is the Bahia type, Dalbergia Nigra, or Brazilian Rosewood. :( 我看了就辛酸啊,我的工资啊。。。 好好学习啊,以后赚钱买一把。 先买房再买琴!!! 。。。 快10年的帖子了
