Evidence Audio-David Gilmour 的新锁链
One of the greatest things that’s happened to my tone are the cables from Evidence Audio. I always thought that my sound was pretty good and I had no idea that the cables I used was actually doing more harm than good. I’ve used all sorts of stuff, like Planet Waves, Monster and George L’s, but none of them come even close to cables from Evidence Audio.About a year ago I got a Lyric and a Lyric HG. I was excited since David was seen using these on the Live 8 performance and the moment I plugged in, I understood why. It was like getting a stompbox made for removing all dullness in your tone (which would be pretty cool in it self!). I had never heard my guitar so clear or with such rich dynamics and I though “so this is how my guitar and amp really sounds like… Wow!”. Then I recieved a Siren speakercable and it totally blew my mind! I didn’t think I would notice a dramatic improovement, since the Lyrics had already done wonders, but I was wrong. Using the Siren between the amp head and cabinet is like removing a thick blanket from the amp!
Which cables I recommend is one of the most frequent questions I get, so I thought I’d do a proper presentation. It is important for me to say that I promote these cables based only on what I’ve experienced and not because I have some obligations to do it.
Gilmour’s Evidence Audio cables;
- On stage, David is using the Melody for his Strats, lap steels and other electric guitars, while in a studio setting he prefers the Lyric HG.
- Lyric HG for acoustic guitars.
- Lyric HG between Cornish pedalboard and additional effect units.
- Siren speakercables between head and cabinets, and used to rewire the inside of combo amps and cabinets.
看来David Gilmour 在用完Planet Waves, Monster and George L’s都没有感到满意,最后选择了Evidence Audio! 有钱就有任意选择权啊! 我等只能是羡慕了!^19

我有一根3M的。当时才花了300多。
样子漂亮而已。 现在手里有MONSTER和GEORGE L'S
但是还是坚持用自己DIY的线材

超时空是一个HIFI信号线的牌子. 至于什么型号被翻译成真空线我就不知道了.
线材内层抽真空是很普遍的做法 不是抽真空，是真空

老大,不抽是不会真空的.说真空是WRAPPING和CONDUCTOR之间,不是整跟线真空, 那还用什么啊......
超时空是个品牌, HIFI玩家的便宜东西, 至于他说的"真空线",肯定是某个型号的名称, 比较艺化的. 被某个中国文人翻译就成那样了.这种情况多了去了. ^14

A deeper look into…
General effect facts
- Pete Cornish modified most of David’s effects for both correct level and impedance matching. He also included several custom features for improved tone and usability, - such as changing capacitors to hight temperature, low leakage, types and changing transistors and resistors to low noise types.
- All effects has specially designed separate power supplies to prevent currant interferance.
- The Boss GE-7 EQs are modified by Cornish to give a flatter response at “0” and a better overall signal.
- The Ernie Ball volume pedal is modified with a 10k pot to reduce high end signal loss.
- The Cornish Soft Sustain is an early version of the current SS-2 including a Boss GE-7 EQ with the sliders ontop of the box. This feature was never used.

David’s stage setup during the Division Bell tour. Notice the Doppola, Marshall and WEB speakers in the back. In the left lower corner you can just spot the Heil Talk Box, used on Keep Talking.
Pete Cornish and Bradshaw systems
David’s system was built to be as userfriendly as possible with the cleanest possible audio signal, using only quality components to eliminate hums and RF interferance. The Pete Cornish routing system in the left rack, is basically 24 send/returns controlled via the Bradshaw footboard. This was modified by Cornish. It had individual on/off switches for all send/returns and a microprocessor which calls up presets from the rack units.
