Karin Schaupp 个人主页:http://www.tpa.net.au/artists/karin-schaupp/ksbio.htm英文介绍:German-born Karin Schaupp is one of the most outstanding young musicians in Australia today. She began playing the guitar at the age of five and first performed in public the following year. While still in her teens she won prizes at international competitions in Lagonegro (Italy) and Madrid, where she was also awarded the special competition prize for the Best Interpretation of Spanish Music. At eighteen she gave her highly successful debut in Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra. Shortly after, she premiered Phillip Bracanin’s award-winning Guitar Concerto (which was written for her and later recorded on CD with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra). Taught almost exclusively by her guitarist mother Isolde Schaupp, Karin Schaupp completed her tertiary music studies at The University of Queensland with First Class Honours, a Masters degree and was also the recipient of a University Gold Medal. Today, Ms Schaupp performs widely on the international stage, as a recitalist, featured soloist and festival guest, her playing receiving the highest acclaim from critics and audiences alike. She has given countless solo recitals in Australia, Europe, Asia, the US and Canada. Karin Schaupp has appeared frequently on live television in Australia and abroad, e.g. in 1997 she performed live as a Special Guest Artist to 20 million viewers and listeners in China, on the occasion of China Radio International’s 50th Anniversary celebrations. Some of her national TV appearances in Australia have resulted in an overwhelming response from viewers, with more viewers calling in than for any other artists during that year. Ms Schaupp has also appeared on radio in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia on countless occasions, including numerous broadcasts of live recitals, as well as many interviews and guest appearances. Her debut solo CD Soliloquy (first released with Warner Music in 1997) and her second album Leyenda (released in May 1998) both proved to be classical best-sellers shortly after their Australian release. Classical Guitar Magazine (UK) praised Soliloquy as " a pace-setting performance in all respects..", while the Ottawa Citizen (Canada) described Ms Schaupp’s playing on Leyenda, "The poetic intensity and sense of elation in her playing are truly quite special." Both albums have received nominations for prestigious recording awards in Australia and their continued international release is under way. Karin Schaupp will spend this year playing numerous recitals in Australia, Canada, Germany, Mexico and the US as well as promoting the release of her third solo CD due for release in June. This eagerly awaited new CD, Evocation will feature works by guitarist composers of the 19th and 20th centuries, including a new work written for Ms Schaupp by the renown American composer and guitarist Andrew York. |
