After relocating to the U.S., Mr. Romero and his father and brothers established the Romeros Quartet as the leading guitar ensemble in the world, playing at the White House and the Vatican, and for audiences of royalty throughout Europe. As a soloist, Pepe Romero has inspired such composers as Joaquín Rodrigo and Frederico Moreno Torroba to write works specifically for him, and he has appeared with such distinguished orchestras as the Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, and San Francisco Symphony Orchestras and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. “To call Pepe Romero a superb guitarist is to understate the case… Mr. Romero is an exceptional musician, one whose qualities would assuredly have made themselves known regardless of the instrument he had chosen for his own.” The New York Times

Eliot Fisk (website)Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 8 P.M.Baltimore Museum of Art“I consider Eliot Fisk as one of the most brilliant, intelligent, and gifted young artists of our time.” Andrés Segovia A daring, charismatic virtuoso, Eliot Fisk is known around the world for expanding the classical guitar legacy that he inherited from his mentor, Andrés Segovia. Mr. Fisk has created a fresh and exciting modern style all his own while perpetuating musical tradition through his numerous transcriptions of great composers of the past. His many musical collaborators include longtime duo partner, flutist Paula Robison, as well as flamenco guitarist Paco Peña, late jazz guitar great Joe Pass, and violinist Gidon Kremer. In 1996, Mme. Emilia Segovia granted Mr. Fisk exclusive first performance and recording rights to a number of recently discovered compositions by the maestro. Mr. Fisk’s subsequent recording of Segovia: Canciones Populares entered the Billboard chart of classical bestsellers. In addition to performance, Eliot Fisk is deeply committed to teaching. A summa cum laude graduate of Yale and the founder of that university’s guitar department, he teaches in five languages at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and is also on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music.

His overall shaping of phrases, warm tone quality, pacing and rhythmic drive are unquestionable.” American Record Guide Long regarded as one of America’s leading classical guitarists, David Leisner began his career with top prizes in both the 1975 Toronto and 1981 Geneva International Guitar Competitions. Although a disabling hand injury cut off his performing career in the 1980’s, he has completely recovered and has enthralled audiences in recent concert seasons in the U. S., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Hungary, and Puerto Rico. Mr. Leisner is a distinguished composer as well, and his “Dances in the Madhouse” has received hundreds of performances, as have his many other works for solo guitar, chamber ensemble, and orchestra. Currently on the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, Mr. Leisner’s lively master classes have been featured at colleges and conservatories across the country.

John Williams is recognized by most music lovers as an icon of the classical guitar. Born in Australia, Mr. Williams has traveled the world since the early 1960’s, concertizing solo and with such musical collaborators as Julian Bream, Itzhak Perlman, and André Previn, among many others, and with his ensemble, John Williams and Friends. His repertoire is evidence of richly varied musical interests, ranging from Renaissance music through 19th and 20th century music of many nations—his recent CDs include his ensemble’s recording of adaptations of African music and a solo recording of Venezuelan works. With over thirty best-selling recordings in his discography, John Williams has also played for such films as The Deerhunter and A Fish Called Wanda. His musical brilliance prompted these words from Andrés Segovia: “A prince of the guitar has arrived in the guitar world.”

Paco de Lucia offers three concerts in France and Switzerland. The guitarist from Algeciras will perform in France on Tuesday 26th October at the Paris Zénith, with group Chispa Negra as supporting act, and on Thursday 28th October at the Toulon Zénith. And on Friday 29th October he'll play the Aréna in the Swiss city of Geneva. These dates, which form part of the 2004 international tour to promote his new album , Costitas Buenas have been organized by Flamenco Producción. Tickets are on sale at Fnac, Carrefour, Lecrerc, Virgin, Auchan.
