八十年代末至九十年代初英国的年轻人呼喊“我要派对！”，NU-RAVE出现了。大大小小的仓库充斥着电子乐和镭射灯光，不喝酒只跳舞，通宵达旦不知疲倦。他们在派对上的衣着风格也成就了新的NU-RAVE时尚，看看那些英国NU-RAVE乐队的造型，你也许会觉得古怪又卡通，但他们正代表了RAVE精神：做人要快乐，要潇洒！

Klaxons成立于2005年的伦敦东部，组队初期的他们在不同的独立厂牌下发行了一系列的七寸单曲，随着其中两张“Magick”和“Golden Skans”获得的巨大成功，Klaxons在2007年初发表首张专辑“Myths of the Near Future”，这张处子作一举赢得当年的水星奖。接下来的大量的巡演及音乐节后，Klaxons进入录音室开始下一张专辑的录制，终于于去年发表了“Surfing the Void”，打入英国专辑榜单前十，其中单曲“Twin Flames”的MV更是惊世骇俗之极，足够吸引眼球。

NME杂志在形容Klaxons的音乐风格时组合了一个新词组：“Acid-rave Sci-fi Punk-funk”，而乐队则称自己的风格为“Psychedelic / Progressive /Pop”，所有的描绘和赞誉都不能仅仅在纸面上体现，有时带你进入八九十年代的舞厅，有时又送你进太空飘荡。当你跟着他们跳起舞来，就无需再想“New Rave”了，只要热闹只要开心就够！

走在时髦音乐最前端的Klaxons从2007年开始就不停地拿奖，其中最耀眼的便是2007年的水星奖，值得一提的是，他们将是继Suede之后第二支来到上海演出的水星奖大赢家，“Golden Skans”、“The Pale Blue Dot”、“Wildeflowers”这些大热单曲的熟悉旋律响起时，你是否也会心生感叹。

此次来华作双人组DJ Set的是Klaxons的核心成员Jamie（贝斯，主唱）和James（键盘，主唱，凯拉奈特莉男友……），一袭英伦乐团的双主唱情结，两人一刚一柔，相得益彰，轻松统治舞池。在11月的上海，你就可以看到他们出现在你的面前，年末的最强派对即刻开始！

Klaxons were formed in London, 2005, and exploded on to the scene with their debut single “Gravity’s Rainbow” being released in May 2006 as a limited edition 7-inch vinyl, decorated by the band themselves. Their first first EP, Xan Valleys, was released on 16 October 2006 through Modular Recordings, and contained their first two singles alongside some remixes from Crystal Castles and Van She.

Following the release of numerous 7-inch singles on different independent record labels, as well as the success of previous singles “Magick” and “Golden Skans”, the band released their debut album, Myths of the Near Future on 29 January 2007. The album won the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize.After headlining their first tour (the 2007 NME Indie Rave Tour), as well as playing numerous festivals and headlining tours worldwide, the band started working on their follow-up album in October 2007. Klaxons’ second album, Surfing the Void, was released on 23 August, 2010.

HMV describes Klaxons as “acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk”, a phrase lifted directly from Tim Chester’s Radar feature in NME, while their MySpace page touts ‘Psychedelic / Progressive / Pop’. However, they are one of the isolated acts being referred to as ‘Nu Rave’, a genre term coined by Angular Records founder Joe Daniel, who released the trio’s first single. Klaxon’s can also be found on a Chemical Brother’s song All Rights Reserved from their 2007 album We Are The Night.

On new year’s eve 2010, Klaxons’ played their first ever headlining DJ set at the world famous Brixton Academy for ‘Get Loaded in the Dark’ alongside Simian Mobile Disco, Chase & Status, Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Herve and Sub Focus. They are now filling up clubs around the world with their DJ sets and this November in Shanhai you’ll get your chance to see what James (keyboard, vocalist, Keira Knightly’s boyfriend…) and Jamie (bass, vocalist), can do behind the DJ table.
