　　　　来自纽约布鲁克林的MEN乐队，由朋克电气化主导乐队Le Tigre的JD Samson为主脑，伙同Le Tigre队友Johanna Fateman一同发起。JD Samson出现在人们视野的那一刻就注定充满了争议性。她出生在美国俄亥俄，15岁成为一个坚定的女同性恋者，22岁拿到了电影导演的本科学位，在2003年和2006年分别参与和创作了艺术计划 “JD的女同日志”和 “JD的同性恋乌托邦”。她全程参加了 Peaches “Impeach My Bush” 的世界巡演，她使用雄性激素让自己看起来像一个风度偏偏的男子。在2011年，JD在 Vogue Hommes International足足占了7页，拍摄了一组极具个人风格的组照。此时，她不仅仅是一个艺术家，还是关于“性别自由”的一个象征性的符号。

　　　　MEN专注于现场演出的冲击力和舞曲的潜力，带有讽刺意味，尖利煞人，却幽默感十足的歌词混合着轻盈的具有感染性的节拍，并融合了后朋克的吉他，加上迪斯科舞厅和放克的节奏，甚至还有Gang of Four式的表现形式，这到底是什么样的音乐？ 他们高唱 I’m gonna f*** my friends and make a little tiny baby",听起来却无忧无虑，像是喝多了摔了个大跟头又旁若无人地爬起来荒唐地大笑。这就像是你喝了一口极为苦口的药水，需要有一勺糖来压一下一样。

　　　　MEN不仅仅是一个乐队，还是视觉艺术家，作家，制作人的混合体。专辑Talk About Body放出了两首风格化强烈的MV。其中Who am I to feel so free选择了在悉尼的悬崖拍摄，把29秒的一个镜头慢放到四分钟，在音乐录影带的末尾，JD下体成长出了精神的灯塔，这种指向性另人不禁头脑冒汗，但感官的冲击实质上做到了强烈而难以忘怀。 MEN拥有自己的美学，可能肮脏，实质上却很纯净。可能分崩离析，也可能美轮美奂,像是一种“中风了”的矛盾感。

　　　　多元化的MEN还与很多不同的制作人和音乐人合作，包括Cobra Starship的Alex Suarez、XXXchange、Santigold、Ponytail的Willy (Molly) Siegel，他们为Azari and III、Boyz Noise、Jeppe、AdRock、Digitalism、Lauren Flax (Creep)、Kim Ann Foxman、Teeth、CSS和FM Belfast制作或混音的作品也引起热议。

　　　　2010年，MEN开始了第一次中国之旅，在北京的世界城市音乐节引爆全场。今年，他们又将降临，带着“Talk About Body”开启亚澳巡演，其中3月9日将首次来到上海，献上开春的第一场解冻现场

　　　　MEN is a Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective led by LE TIGRE’s JD Samson.
　　　　MEN focus on the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. Their music speaks of issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and the demand for liberties through lyrical content and an inventive, high-energy stage show.
　　　　The group began in 2007 with the DJ/production/remix team of LE TIGRE members JD Samson and Johanna Fateman. With LE TIGRE on hiatus, when the duo began to write new songs, it made sense to merge their efforts with JD’s other project HIRSUTE (Michael O’Neill, JD Samson, Emily Roysdon and Ginger Brooks Takahashi).
　　　　JD and Michael now comprise the core of MEN, with Johanna Fateman and Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants, and producers. The band enjoys changing the shape of the project and collaborating every tour with new instrumentalists and visual elements. Last year they were joined by Tami Hart of the band Making Friendz and this year have been joined by percussionist Lee Free.
　　　　MEN put out their debut record, ‘Talk About Body’ on IAMSOUND Records February 2011. The band have toured extensively all over the world, played Coachella 2011 and have supported both Peaches and Gossip, and most recently supported CSS through a full US tour.
　　　　Men will be hitting Lune on March 9 for a frenzied sight and sound spectacular. Support will be from S.T.DJs and you can expect the party to the early hours.
