In 1999, Gibson decided to make available three guitars that would celebrate the new millennium.
The three guitars would be sold as a package, at a price of $150,000 (US) for all three.
Gibson decided that two of the guitars would be Les Pauls, and the third would be a Semi Acoustic Arch-type.
This is what Gibson made:

1.An R9 Les Paul that would be recorded as the very last guitar manufactured by the Gibson Corporation in the prior millennium.

2.An R9 Les Paul that would be the very first guitar manufactured by the Gibson Corporation in the current millennium.

The package sold by lottery for $150,000 (US) in early 2000.
A few years later, the original purchaser experienced financial difficulties and decided to sell the guitars.
Gibson immediately purchased them for its museum, but through incredible luck, I managed to acquire the two Les Pauls.
The Semi Acoustic Arch-type is now in the Gibson Guitar Museum in Nashville, USA.

可以看到琴头背面的序列号，左侧为992050，其中9代表1959年Reissue Les Paul（最著名的Les Paul）的再版，第二个9代表1999年生产的最后一把，也就是第2050把。
右侧的序列号为9 0001，同样的9代表Reissue 1959的Les Paul，0001是2000年生产的第一把
两把吉他内部都有独一无二的芯片，吉他的资料和拥有者的姓名都在Gibson公司保存着，也就是说，无论这两把吉他将来被谁收藏，都将被注册在新买家的名下。
