The 13th International Pentecost Seminar (IPS) Koblenz Guitar Festival 将于2005年5月10日到16日在德国Koblenz举行。
The IPS Koblenz Guitar Festival is a music festival that mainly concentrates on guitar music and comprises concerts, master courses, workshops, lectures and the International Guitar Competition "Hubert Käppel" among the active and the passive participants. Institutional cooperation is being provided by Koblenz-Touristic, Kulturamt der Stadt Koblenz, the Musikschule der Stadt Koblenz, the Gitarrenakademie der Musikschule der Stadt Koblenz, the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, the Jazzclub Koblenz, the Stiftung Zukunft der Sparkasse Koblenz and Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz.
In 2004, more than 200 lecturers, students and performing artists from 36 countries were present. Due to the high number of participants and to its artistic ranking, the IPS Koblenz Guitar Festival has established itself among the leaders of such events in Europe and is appreciated worldwide for the standard of its guitar music. Apart from the well-known lecturers, some world-renown guitarists will perform in concerts that attract visitors from far afield. And because not only classical music but also jazz and its kin have always been part of the IPS Koblenz Guitar Festival, many visitors find their way to Koblenz every year.

这4个人的资料就不贴了,到处都是。Philip Catherine (Belgien)Philip Catherine has been on the forefront of the European jazz scene since the sixties. He has worked with great artists like Lou Bennett, Billy Brooks, Edgar Bateman, John Lee, Gerry Brown, Jean Luc Ponty, Larry Coryell, Alphonse Mouzon, Charlie Mariano, Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen, Kenny Drew, Dexter Gordon, Toots Thielemans, Stéphane Grappelli, Charles Mingus, Chet Baker, Tom Harrell, the rock group Focus. His unique approach and sound, his dedication to music and, above all, the highly emotional lyricism of expression in his playing and in his music, have been important and influential.
Philip Catherine was born in London in 1942. Coming from a musical family (his grandfather was first violin with the London Symphony Orchestra), he developed a musical ear from an early age. He took up the guitar after having heard George Brassens, and then started listening to all the great jazzmen of the period. Very soon he had the opportunity to meet some of them, and often play with them when they were performing in Belgium where his family had moved to by then.www.philipcatherine.com

  Alexander S. Ramirez (Germany/Peru)
Alexander-SERGEI RAMÍREZ was born in 1962 in Lima; his father was a Peruvian painter, his mother a German pianist. After studying the cello for many years he took up the guitar, teaching himself for the first two years and then beginning his studies of the instrument with Professor Maritta Kersting in Düsseldorf. After his examination concert he continued studying in Alcoy, Spain with José-Luis González, master pupil of the legendary Andrés Segovia, and finally went to Pepe Romero in San Diego, California in order to put the final touches on his playing. Ramírez’s active participation in master classes given by the violinist Dénes Zsigmondy, the tenor Luigi Alva and the piano teacher Karl-Heinz Kämmerling bears witness to the artist’s many interests outside his own special area. Enriched by these experiences, he has been able to expand the guitar repertoire without being bound by specific constraints imposed by the instrument itself. Since winning first prize at the Alhambra International Guitar Competition in Spain, Ramírez has appeared throughout the world in recitals, chamber concerts (with partners including the pianist Sheila Arnold, the guitarist Pepe Romero and the Amati Quartet) and as soloist in orchestral concerts, which have often entailed radio or television recordings. Some of the most significant milestones in his career to date have been appearances at the Salzburg Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Semanas Interamericanas (Washington, DC), as well as at the main halls of the Salzburg Mozarteum and Zurich Tonhalle and at Lima’s Teatro Municipal. His four previously released albums on DENON have been highly praised in the musical press. In spring 2002 a new CD with works by the Paraguayan composer Agustín Barrios-Mangoré was released on DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON. Ramírez sees it as a matter of personal responsibility to pass on his knowledge to the younger generation and, in addition to master classes, has taught a guitar class since 1997 at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.www.alexander-sergei-ramirez.de
