The one above is Custom Shop, as most would know. The first letter(s) designates the Custom Shop, Original Series, Signature Series, Standard Series, and domestic market only prefixes we don't need to go into here.
For the Custom Shop and Original Series models you'll have:
K, S or T.
K = Kiso, S = Sado, T= Takada (that last one might change later this year but as it stands, that's it).
The Signature Series and Standard Series will have SS prefix.
The numbers then go like this, using the above serial number as an example:
K0340506
K = As detailed above
Two Digit Year
Week of the Year
Day of the Week - Monday=1, Tuesday=2, Wednesday=3 etc.
Number off the line that day
So K0340506 was made in Kiso shop in 2003 on the 40th week, which was around mid-October that year, and was completed on the 5th day of that week (which, if I'm correct would have been Friday the 10th, but I only worked that out quickly) and was the 6th guitar finished that day |
