Providing straight ahead solid bass tone, the Crate BX bass series have been designed to for the practicing and performing professional musician. Featuring a Crate 15" bass driver and 100 watts RMS, the BFX100 delivers pure bass tone with power and precision. An 8 band graphic EQ lets users configure their favorite sound, plus special features like a limiter, effects loop, and XLR Pre/Post line out with level assure your sound comes through clearly at every show. Players have the ability to expand using the external speaker jack or rehearse privately with the speaker muting headphone jack.
Player Type: With professional tone and power, the BX100 is preferred by semi-pro and pro players in search of a rock solid bass rig.

1.
Input
Plug your instrument's output cord in here.
2.
-15dB/0dB Switch
This siwtch pads the imput signal 15dB when pressed in, allowing the use of hotter inputs such as tape decks or active basses
3.
Gain
Set the input gain level for the corresponding input jack with these controls. The gain controls set the signal level going to the amplifier and serve as volume controls.
4.
Peak LED
This indicator LED will light when the input signal is near the limits of the amp's input stages. Adjust the gain control (#4) so this LED flashes ocassionally.
5.
Contour Active
When this pushbutton switch is pressed in the Contour Shape control is activated and the sound of your bass is affected by the setting of the control. Pressing the switch in a second time releases it, deactivating the Shape control.
7.
Graphic Equalizer
Seven bands of frequencies from 50Hz to 5kHz
may be boosted by moving the sliders up or cut by moving the sliders down. The lower frequencies are to the left and the higher frequencies are to the right. A great many tone variations are possible using different settings of these sliders.
8.
Master Level Control
Use this control to set the output level of the amplifier. This controls the signal level at the Speaker Output jacks, as well as the Preamp Out jack.
9.
Limit Indicator LED
A power amp limiter which automatically limits the signal to the power amp to a point just below ÒclippingÓ or distortion. This is to assure a clean undistorted sound at full power. The limit LED indicator will be lit whenever full power is reached.

Balanced Line Out Level Control
Adjusts the strength of the signal at the Balanced Line Output jack.
11.
Pre/Post EQ Switch
Determines whether the line out signal is taken before (switch in) or after (switch out) the Gain, Shape, and Equalizer controls.

Balanced Line Out Jack
Provides a balanced output signal for connection to an external power amp, tape deck or mixing board.
13.
Send Jack
This control adjusts the signal level at the Headphones jack.
14.
Return Jack
Jack may be connected to the line level output of an external effects device. The 'Post Gain' configuration is helpful in obtaining optimum input signal levels to external devices and reducing the noise levels associated with them.
15.
Headphones
For private practice sessions, plug a pair of stereo headphones into this jack. The internal speaker is disconnected whenever headphones are being used.

External Speaker
connect an extension speaker to the unit.
17.
On LED
Glows when the amplifier is turned on.
18.
Power Switch
This switch turns the amplifier on in the right position and off in the left position.
19.
Power Cord
This heavy-duty, grounded, three-wire power cord is to be plugged into ONLY a safely-wired, grounded 120 volt, 60 cycle AC power outlet.
DO NOT attempt to defeat the ground connection of this cable! If your amp was purchased outside of the United States, see the unit's rear panel for its power rating and follow the above guidelines.
20.
Fuse (rear panel, not shown)
Protects the amplifier against damages caused from a faulty AC power source or other problems. If the fuse blows, replace it ONLY with the same size and type fuse.
If the fuse blows repeatedly check the AC source; if it's okay, contact your Crate dealer for service information.
