Dear Ernie ball member:
Good day.
I am a guitar player from China, and I really like your products of electric guitar strings.
Usually I use Ernie ball 2221 model on my Gibson Les Paul guitar, it sounds awesome.
But, presently I bought 5 sets Ernie Ball 2221 from China local guitar shop, I felt there should be something wrong about those strings.
I have not opened them yet, but took some pictures as below:
I took those pictures by phone, it was not so accurate, but could you help me to check whether those strings are fake or not?
Thanks a lot!!
Thank You for playing EB!
May we please ask why you think the strings are fake?

Dear John:
Good day.
Thanks for your reply.
I ordered those strings from “Taobao” in China, just like Ebay in America.
When I got those strings in hand, the different package style(I showed you in below mail) made me feel that are they real ones?
I didn’t play them yet because if I opened the package, that would make it hard to get refund.
It’s shame to say but actually there are lots of fake products in China, as you know the Chinese Gibson “Chibson”, right?
In strings field, almost 70% in Chinese market are fake… This time I ordered them from a regular local guitar shop, but the strange feeling of package still makes me puzzled…
So I just want to make sure are those strings real ones or not, I think writing a mail to EB website should be a best way.
The fake string would damage my guitar, I just experienced before, I don’t want to let it happen again…
If you need any more information of those strings, please tell me.
Thanks and BR.
We confirm the strings appeared to be authentic Ernie Ball product - we use hermetically sealed foil packaging.
Take Care,
