(Woops, my computer keyboard is screwed here and I can't type Chinese!)
Hey, you're absolutely welcome! And I'm glad that another Rickenbacker bass is in the hands of my fellow citizen! In my humble opinion, the quality and craftsmanship of the current RIC instruments are the best in RIC's history. I congratulate you on scoring a great bass! Isn't the Fireglo finish sexy as hell that you almost wanna sleep with her?
Yep, isn't that push-pull tone knob for the treble pickup lovely? It gives you some NEW sounds!
As for getting your tone, I strongly suggest rolling 10%~30% off on the volume knob of either the bass (neck) or the treble (bridge) pickup instead of having both full on at the same time when you don't have that vintage tone knob pulled up. You'll get more articulation and clarity in your tone. Having both full on gives you that mid-scooped sound (because of phase cancellation between the two pickups) that I'm not very fond of. But of course, if that mid-scooped sound is what you want, then go ahead and rock on!
Play with her as much as you can. I'm sure you'll get used to her neck and feel comfortible playing her pretty soon. Good luck!
