Dear May,The normal retail price for a Streamer Std in China is RMB 3391... so more or less what you paid in Hong Kong.... the streamer has passive pickup and passive electronic,.. the Vampyre has active pickup AND active electronic (what the yamaha probably do not have)... It has also Twin Jazz pickup and another Jazz single coil pickup...Pickup are MEC pickup made in Germany not a no name pickup...made I do not know where but would be interesting ask them...Note the Rockbass are first exported then reimported as they are not allowed to be sold in China out of factory, means you can maybe get them a little cheaper in Hong Kong but my friend... the higher price come from the stuff used not that we charge a lot on it!!!We have rockbass from 3000 to 8000 and believe me they worth every penny that you spend... They are not made in a dirty, "with no knowledge of instrument" factory, they are controlled one by one by the man behind the Warwick Bass... he come every month in China to check them... All the hardware is imported, pickups... you can see the wood on your rockbass and you can be sure this is the not the cheapest shit out there... can you see the wood on many bass at RMB 3000? Do you think these are spending a lot of money in wood in a bass where you never see the wood????? I am telling you, we can make a bass for RMB 2000 to you with no problem.... with a high polish color where you do not see the wood, I will use the cheapest wood available (anyway you will never see it...) and make it with a hand knife (what happen in chinese factory that make that cheap instruments) and will sell it to you for RMB 2000.... It cost us USD 30 to make a guitar like this!!!! But we do not do that!!! Here I make good money if we sell it for RMB 2000!!!USD 30 is just the price for one MEC pickup, dear May... so now you can look at your Rockbass and say sorry to her because she is not as crapy that you say!!!!If you want a cheap shit... there are a lot out there... but if you have RMB 2500 to spend a Rockbass is really a good deal....Also consider that I only here tell official retail price... I am sure you can find a dealer in China that can give you a far better price that what I can say here since I sell them much cheaper... Maybe even better than HK 2500! (maybe you could have bought cheaper in China actually)....To give you an more close idea.... RMB 2500 is what cost the piece of maple on the Rockbass Corvette Special edition, just the wood!!!! The raw piece of wood!!! Our cost.... My friend, good wood is expensive... Also you can look on our website (www.rockbass.de, chinese section), there are press review from different country... everywhere, the quality of the Rockbasses is praised and appreciated by expert... (these are free press).... see review from Malaysian press, USA press, GB press or Australia press....Anyway glad to hear you are a Rockbass player... welcome in the family, try to love your axe a bit more, she will return it to you....  |
